Energy is of paramount importance in international relations, and its existence in any geographical area can transform that region into an arena of competition and conflict and shape political alignments and arrangements. In line with the above doctrine, Russia seeks to make the most of its energy use and domination over areas with energy resources to regain its power and to exert the greatest influence on the policies of its energy-dependent countries, especially the European Union and Central Asian countries and the Caucasus. Therefore, the present study, using a descriptive and analytical approach, examines diplomacy and Russian energy security strategy and its role and significance in Russian foreign policy between 2000 and 2015. Based on Russian research findings, using diplomacy and aggressive energy security strategy in its foreign policy on energy as a means of bringing the country back to the international arena and restoring its power globally and keeping the former Soviet republics and the European Union dependent. .
